Scientific Name – Borago Officinalis


Gol-gav-zaban (Borage) is a herb that originally grows in Iran and a few Mediterranean countries of west Asia. The flower has a sweet honey-like taste and is one of the few truly blue-coloured edible substances, it has been known to assist with fever, cough and depression and may assist blood purification.

It is native to the Middle East and has an ancient history in war as an enhancement for bravery and courage, the ancient Greeks used to put it into there wine as they thought it aided with melancholy

Brewing Instructions

Take 1-3 teaspoons of dried herb per cup of water, pour boiling water over the hers and let steep for up to 20 minutes.
