From a young age I always remembered seeing this in my grandads orchard, surrounding the blue tiled lined pond, it seems that from ancient times and from times when humans were fighting for life, along with the struggles to provide food and clothing, we have always been thinking about health, finding ways to live healthy and relieving physical ailments and illness which was later called the medicine. Did you know that Calendula stems from the Latin word kalendae, means first day of the month, presumably because pot marigolds are in bloom at the start of most months of the year. Calendula in suspension or in tincture
is used topically to treat acne, reducing inflammation, controlling bleeding & soothing irritated tissue as well as being mild enough for most people to be able to ingest, this rather than a delicious drink has more of a bitter flavour and is more medicinal than a casual winter warmer or soothing summer drink.

Plant pharmacological studies have suggested that Calendula extracts have anti-viral, anti-inflammatory & anti-genotoxic properties.

Brewing Instructions
